- My instances require data persistence, how is that possible with Spot replacements?
For a single-instance or any workload that require data persistence, Elastigroup provides continuous and automated Snapshot functionality that captures the instance storage and enables to recover from the latest checkpoint.
- How does AMI auto-backup work? How many snapshots do you keep?
AMI auto-backup creates, by default, 3 backups of your AMI. If the backup mode is set to “Continuous” (in compute tab in Elastigroup’s configuration) it will create a new image with any change to the image. Upon Spot replacement, Elastigroup will recover from the latest image automatically.
The image is taken from the latest launched instance and will be applied as AMI to any future launched instance in the same Elastigroup until the next backup.
